We all know what's been going on in Pakistan in the last few days. I'm not going to comment about it much as I've always believed that everyone is entitled to their own opinions and in these cases, it's best to not think about what is right or wrong, what should or should not be done, but rather to think about all the human beings, lives, that are involved.
Besides, I've already said my peace through another outlet...so that's that.
Bottom line, for me, unnecessary violence has never solved anything and never will solve anything. To spark such selfish, self-important rage is just that...selfish. Without thinking about the cause and effect...without thinking about the consequences later on...
I don't know..I'm scared to think what the world will be for the generations of the future...or if there's even a world for them in the first place, the way this generation is carrying on.
=======================
Almost everyone who has bothered to ask me who me favourite author is would know that it's Nora Roberts. But those who've bothered to find out who Nora Robert is would also know that she has a series of books written under the name J.D. Robb.
I've never really dabbled into J.D. Robb's books simply because there's just so freaking many Nora Roberts books to finish..but recently, I've come to realize (and grudgingly accept) that there's no way for me to finish all of them if I want to have a life as well as read other authors.
So finally, after 5 1/2 years of knowing J.D. Robb's existence, I'm reading Naked In Death, part one of a whole line of series.
And quite naively I can say, I didn't know it was quite possible to write as two separate identities and still be equally good. If not better.
There are two very distinct flows of writing for both J.D. Robb and Nora Roberts. And I like it. I actually feel as though I'm reading two different writers. Well, there are similarities as well, and I have yet to be able to find words to describe what they are, but the way the two identities are able to stand on their own? Something that is hard to do unless you are skilled and confident enough as a writer to break apart from your usual patterns..
So yeah..I'm new to the In Death series but so what? I like it!

In my quest to find my childhood once again, I stumbled upon this...
Lambchop was my best friend! And I'll die if that's not the cutest thing you've ever seen! But why is Baby Lambchop almost twice the size of Big Lambchop? And WHY the name Lambchop? I mean, isn't that a dish? Didn't Shari ever teach...now wait..was Lambchop a boy or a girl? A girl I think, based on the baby pictures..but yeah...
Sadly, Sheri Lewis has passed away..but the legacy that is the cute (I guess it's relative) sock whose eyes never opened will live on...
'sides..it was Lambchop who taught me how to rap, yo...
========================
And now, I'm crazily looking at old cartoon intros...and actually cognitively singing along to them..I actually feel like a Pavolion dog right now...and I'm not talking about Smurfs, Thundercats and all the other cartoons that people still remember until now..I'm taling about tose that people have forgotten...
Ewoks...I guess I can say that I don't hate everything that George Lucas has ever created..
Glo Friends
Heathcliff
Alf Tales
Police Academy (yes, there was a cartoon version..I actually remember one that I watched where Callehan was filing her nail..)
Captain Zed and the Zee Zone. I highly suspect that this cartoon had a lot of influence in my current sleep pattern...
Garfield and Friends
And for the fun of it, I'm throwing this one in to annoy you guys...Hehe..Captain Planet!!

I don't think I'll be doing a yearly round-up list this year...I usually do one towards the end of the year to summarize the things that have effected/affected me most throughout the last 12 months...but not this year...
Simply because too many things have happened and I don't know if I wanna remember most of them.
But yeah...a short list would be
1) I graduated and had my convocation
2) I got my first job
3) I got my first car
4) I had my first paycheck
5) I had my first job resignation
6) I watched Phantom of the Opera. A dream since 1995
7) Doctors gave bleak predictions about mom's status
8) Grandma passed away
9) My sanity (O.C. and Veronica Mars) ended. TV has never been the same again
10) Realized for the first time that JB is sorta ok...there are some cool places to hang out here and that there are some awesome people staying here..awesome people that I'm glad to call friends now..
So yeah..there are other stuff as well..about decisions I've had to make...things I've had to leave behind and things I've had to take up on my own...there were tears, LOTS of them..but laughter was there too...2007 was crazy, but don't we say that every year?
But I think I've grown a lot this year, more than the other years.. I've begun to get a clearer sense of who I am now...And I'm beginning to put my foot down on shit that I don't want to tolerate with.
As of now though, I am SO ready to leave 2007 behind.
================
I threw out a whole box of VCR tapes without even looking through them..they might contain old footages of BSB, Mariah and whoever else I was obsessed with during my childhood/adolescence/(denial!)adulthood but I knew that there was going to be no way for me to keep them intact without investing hundreds of hours reformatting them into digital copies...so I had to say goodbye to them...
*sighs*
=================
My Angel Jellybean's in Malacca cause my brother's Kenari's in need of a new engine so Jehan picked me up from home before we headed over to Starbucks so that she could do some online job surfing...
Seriously, the job market in JB? Sad. Real sad...I really think that we're probably really gonna be moving back to KL..cause seriously, who's gonna pay for our car?
Growing up sucks, man...
=================
I bought (finally!) the Take That Ultimate Tour DVD...and though I've actually watched it 3 to 4 times online, it still doesn't get old..not much anyways..I still love A Million Love Songs despite me not being a fan from the start...I can still remember the days when Elfi and Faezah used to talk about them boys constantly in school...and yeah..somehow only after they're, well, Take That-now, am I really interested. Ah...whatever...the DVD's good though..well polished..so it's worth the watch actually...

Merry Christmas guys!!
=======================
Gossip Girl icons that I've made over the past weeks...well, some are ok, some are whatever and some I especially love aka 001 and 005..again, you may take them if somehow you feel like you like them but don't ever think you can pass them off as yours...credit where credit is dued..so yeah...
=======================
You know what I hate? I hate family members who meddle...those who think that what they are doing are right when in fact, they are doing much more chaos instead.
Especially when things are going along fine in your life until suddenly, they call up your dad and says that he "wants to pull strings"...*Bleeding sarcasm*woo hoo*end Bleeding Sarcasm*
I actually screamed, "If I'm not getting it, then don't push it. Just let it be," in the background...I dunno..I hate living on edge..especially when you're on the brink of finding out if your life will be changing for good because of one stupid effing phonecall.
======================
Can someone tell me where to get The Adventures of Mimi in JB? Original. Cause it seems as though they are not selling them anywhere...I wanna get the original copy since it's not only a double disc (they never seem to do pirated copies for double discs) and also because they're having this promo where it's less than RM50..so yeah...
=======================
Buffy Season 2 is 4 more episodes short of becoming a full season. YESSSSSSS!!!!!

So what do you do when you need a little pick-me-up without, you know, taking the illegal stuff and all that?
You watch a little Youtube where comedians make fun of the stereotypes that exist within your religion..Muslim jokes by Muslims...
And I don't wanna be hearing shit about how we should be sensitive bla bla bla..to each her/his own and I happen to think that the jokes aren't offensive..so there...anyways, it's mostly jokes by Arab Americans living in America after 9/11...
All insanely funny people..
Stand-up by Ahmed Ahmed
Maz Jobrani
Aron Kader
Check out the one where he talks about Muslims cussing in English and not in Arabic.. well..heee...

And the backlash on Hady's win keeps coming in...
Come on lah, people...live and let it be..we can blame a thousand of things but..well, what's done is done...we ALL know that vocal abilities are never the real factor behind a person winning in a singing competition..
*sighs* Give the guy a break..cause on the hindsight, so what if he won? It won't mean anything unless he works hard at it..and another way to look at things...the more people slam him, the harder he might try to push himself to prove people wrong..so let it go already..let's move on to more important things...

...like Nickolas Carter!

Muahaha...just couldn't resist..taken from the Z100 Jingle Ball...the Boys did Any Other Way..and it was real good actually..at least from the really grainy videos the fan took..hey, better than nothing at all I say!
And when seeing these pics in HQ, you can see the "battle scars" that Nicky Boy suffered from the stupid accident a few weeks back where a fan threw him in front of a car or something..yeah, something about the substance in that sentence is off but oh heck..so what?
Squeee!
=======================
Drove into Singapore yesterday with Jehan to do shopping in Vivocity and Orchard.. we went back at around 9pm and were flat out exhausted from all the walking and the dodging of the rain..but it felt good to get out of the JB air for a while...and we had FUN. That was the most important thing..main intention was to get some flat-out boring leather shoes for me in case of any official functions..and I got them from Scholl..Jehan got some shirts at Gap and FCUK...not much shopping done, just lots of walking around...but it felt GOOD. For lunch, met up with Yana and ended up helping her out for something that her boss needed..tee hee...running around Parkway Parade with Styrofoam cups and coffee!
See girls? I wasn't joking when I said that I'll drive into Singapore so that we can escape the public transportation system that always summons a migraine at the end of the day...which is better? Getting stuck in a jam with strangers or with your own girlfriends?

Asian Idol came and went...
Hady oh Hady oh Hady...Hady...*sighs* What else can I say? *smiles and beams*
"Singapore and Malaysia in perfect harmony..something you don't get to say very often.." LOL! Jien!! Haha..you hit the nail on the head!!
Taylor Hicks...oh man...you deserve more dude...I can't help but feel bad for people when they win something and don't exactly explode...and I actually do love Do I Make You Proud..always thought of it as the perfect "right after graduation" type of song..
That Guy Sebastian duet was not too bad..I can actually remember when the song was overplayed to DEATH on the radios here...and of course Carrie covered it during her finale performance on Idol...
And yeah..well, it ain't that bad..and I feel sorta bad for Guy though..he can sing..just well..hmm..whatever happened to the dude who won World Idol anyways, you know?
*Sighs*
At least I got to drool over Daniel Mananta again...seriously, the fuzziness on my RCTI channel was definitely not enough..he's hot lah wei...I accidentally went, "He looks like Lee Hom sangat-sangat lah," of to which my mom went, "Yup..." and (as I was watching Asian Idol on Channel 5) suddenly UTT comes on screen for those Christmas messages whatevers...
So yeah...add that into the mix why don't we?
*sighs* I have a weakness for insanely pretty boys..help me please...
Know what's interesting though? The dude said that he had a 3 week stint in Citibank...lol...I had a 3 month stint at Citibank..Hmm...is it normal to have short stints in Citibank, no matter which country you're from?
And of course, how can I resist, seriously?

======================
So Farah and I were going back and forth as to where we might have seen Jamie Theakston from..and I know I couldn't seem to answer the question completely..I dunno how I can remember his name but now I know where I've seen his face...
Mariah and Westlife singing Hero on the TOTP Awards way back when....I LOVE THIS VERSION...and well..yeah, I kinda watched it obsessively over and over again when it first came on..so yeah...that's Jamie in the front and the back of the video...
Hady oh Hady oh Hady...Hady...*sighs* What else can I say? *smiles and beams*

Been going out with Jehan for two days in a row now..and if plans go as..well...planned, we'll be driving into Singapore this Monday for me to get some shoes...We watched Alvin and The Chipmunks yesterday..cinema FULL of kids...but it was cool..imagine Jesse Mcartney (how do you spell his last name?) being the voice of Theodore and Justin Long as Alvin..dude, it was PRECIOUS. It got a bit slow in the end but oh well..I still love The Chipmunks...
Alvin, Simon, Theodore! Toot toot too toot toot toot!
We're on our way to becoming two really bored ex-CPOs..heh...
I feel her pain, especially all that's going on personally and professionally.. the shift thing? Lord, if I'd stayed, they said that there was a high chance that I would have been moved to shift as well..and hmm..though the pay would increase my basic to RM 2000++, it won't be worth it..not the tiredness, the emotional trauma and the whole caboodle that involves it..
But you know, one thing I'm glad about the whole journey, is the the experience that I garnered out of it socially. For that, I'm happy that I took that 3 months to do the crazy thing called CPO...
=======================
Whedonverse, UNITE!
I've forgotten just how massive the Whedonverse really is...I think it's funny the way they used the really popular Joss Whedon catchphrase, "Joss is *bleep*." I can't write it down for fear of being blasphemous..so yeah..heh..hey, I may not be a saint but I do fear my God, k?
I really really do miss the Buffy world...*sighs* They don't make TV like they used to anymore...
Damn corporations...BRING OUR TV SHOWS BACK, DAMMIT!! AAAAAHHHH!!!!
===================
I honestly didn't know that these interviews existed...And honestly don't think Mariah's ever done interviews like these before..They are pretty old...between the Butterfly to the Rainbow era..but INSANELY funny..Jamie Theakston's got one unique way of interviewing..
No, seriously, if you've never really been into Mariah interviews, just watch these..it'll be so worth it I tell you..This is what happens when the interviewer and interviewee have great chemistry..total hilariousness...and besides, where else can you get interviewers who roll their eyes at Mariah Carey?
Thing is, I actually thought it was a cow too...like, after 10 years, I finally learnt that it's a horse..really?!
"You enjoy naked waterpolo with the Backstreet Boys..." WTF?

The thing about watching the SEA Games in my household is the undeniable extreme competitive spirit between Team Singapore and Team Malaysia...considering that only 2/7 of the family members are from Malaysia and only 1/7 is the only one interested in Team Singapore, it's a very annoying trait..
And when it comes to swimming, I really really wish I wasn't such a loser..lol...
But the thing is, I've been monitoring and following Team Singapore's swimming team since, well, I started swimming..which was when I was 11. I'm sure I spilled the whole story in this blog before somewhere along the road but whatever...And yeah...
That's all I can say about it really..that I followed it all the way back when Ang Peng Siong was still in the team..geez..just to watch Ang Peng Siong swim is enough..so yeah...
======================
Got back from KL yesterday...BOY are my muscles sore..went to Sunway Lagoon to babysit my sister and cousins who are on school break...I wasn't planning to swim at first but the water proved to be too tempting so I ended up buying a t-shirt, shorts and flip-flops..
And now my face is slightly peeling thanks to the sun...cause I'm one of those who, fortunately, do not get sun-tanned, but unfortunately am blessed with the skin-peeling...ouch.
So yeah..Individual pics are on my Facebook...other pics will be on Photobucket cause I'm still waiting for my cousin to send them over from her phone...
======================
I don't want to go to Segamaaaaaaaaaaat! I want to stay in JB!!!!!!!
Before I go off to Exile Land, I'm going to make sure that I meet up with all the peeps...starting this weekend. Tomorrow if possible...
And I want to make sure I take pictures with EVERYONE.
Because I'm going off to Exile Land...
=======================
No more Private Practice till the Writers' Strike is over....NOOOOOOOOOOOO
Damn you! Damn you all to hell!! I mean, I'm all for the writers...cause heck, it's only right that they get paid for what they are producing...so lemme rephrase it to
Damn you corporations!! Damn you all to hell!!!!!!
If you're standing between me and my Lowell-Happiness, Firah is NOT happy.
*pouts*

If you're standing between me and my Lowell-Happiness, Firah is NOT happy.

Ok, so I've made 2 Gossip Girl icons..indulge me a little eh? What else CAN I do? Especially since most of the shows will be going on hiatus starting next week..Apparently, last week's episode that featured Chris in all his pissed-off and blue-eyed anger glory was the last in stock before The Writers' Strike happened..Gossip Girl still has 5 more...dude, I'm DYING here...

So now that I've brushed up on my Gossip Girl episodes, there's something that I've been meaning to do since the first few episodes...

I almost added Chris Lowell in the mix but I knew that someone would probably never forgive me if I did *wink wink* so I decided to leave him out...
Heh...I obviously have too much time on my hands...
======================
And seriously, no pun intended from the above, but Carrie! I LOVE YOU!! *pokes Farah cause I know she'll love this*
======================
Meg Cabot, I love you and all the plus-sized girly woes that you represent in your books. Skip the fact that she wrote Princess Diaries..check out her adult books and you'll find that you can't help but laugh through each one of them...
I previously read Size 12 is Not Fat and Size 14 is Not Fat Either (it's 2 books although I've realized that typing them in one sentence makes it look like 1 title all together) and I LOVE both books..
Am indulging in the Boy series...seriously, I love love love her...I'm not too much into chic lit but hers? I personally think it's above a notch...so yeah...

So Asian Idol's up..it's not exactly something that's causing a lot of hoo-haa but oh well...it's the region's best..so I guess it won't hurt to just watch..
Malaysia's got Jac up and Singapore's got Hady..oooh boy..I'm very sure that when that was announced, there must have been some drama that went on between Team Taufik and Team Hady..but dang man...both are good singers..I'm sure they have their reasons as to why they sent Hady..I like Hady's voice..he's not nasal..*receives pinches from Taufik fans*
I love Taufik, sure...but, you know? The ears don't lie...And Hady's cute, talking about his lunch here...I never knew food needed so much attention..heh..
Ooh! And the REALLY cute Indonesian Idol host's name is Danial! Dang, he looks like Lee Hom..it's ridiculous..I've been trying to find out his name since the last season but haven't been so lucky..so hehe...one question answered!
So yeah...8 TV's showing it this week whereas Singapore TV's showing it next week..so if there happens to be some crazed Hady fan who doesn't want to know the results, or hear me rambling, then don't read lah ya?
===================
One good thing about having a brother who has his own networking going on? You're able to get episodes of other TV series instantly instead of downloading them manually one by one...
I have the episodes of Gossip Girl....
MARATHON BABY!!

It's regional sports season again and you know what that means!
Well, actually most of you won't cause that side of me seldom unleashes itself until the season is actually here..
It's swimming season baby and I, for one, will be glued to the TV set!!
Yes, unfortunately, that is the only way for me to relive the life that I had when I was 11, shortstop cause of..well..the fear of drowning..ironic since it's SWIMMING.
It's a long story but yes...nothing thrills me more than to watch men and women, boys and girls swim in a competition...That's one thing cool about living in a family that appreciates sports...they'll watch it as long as it's a competition...

You know you love me
XOXO
Gossip Girl
*groans*

I've tried my hardest not to succumb but yeah..I can't help it..Josh Schwartz, I'm your bitch...anything you create, I'll lap up...from Orange County to Manhattan...dammit!
And well, there's Kristen Bell and there's Mark Piznarski (holla!) who are from Veronica Mars...so you take those two and you add them up? Well that equals to a very weak Firah who's now in need of her fix..all I gotta do is poke my trusted pirated DVD seller a little and hopefully he'd be able to supply me with Season 1 when it comes out..provided I can wait that long (episode 2 is being downloaded as this is written)
So *sighs* I've succumbed..and I've got to stop doing it mid-season..same thing happened with The O.C...
And no, I don't think Chace Crawford is hot..he's TOO much of a pretty boy for me...but I DO seriously love Leighton Meester's character...as usual, I root for the bitch..heh...bitchy brunettes all the way! Loves it!
====================
Speaking of writers and show crossovers, I just realized that Marti Noxon, one genius behind the small show called Buffy The Vampire Slayer, is also writing for Private Practice...
SWEEEEEEET!
====================
And keeping up with the whole Veronica Mars thing going on (God I miss that show), we got to see pissed PISSED Dell last night which equals to pissed Chris...
Which equals to visual bliss...*Sighs*

Can someone tell me why my Facebook notifications aren't updating themselves? I can see people sending stuff to me on their profiles but I can't see them on mine...grr...

Heroes Volume 2 is finally over and done...
Here are my short but very painful thoughts on the whole 11 episodic season...wait..was it really only for 11 episodes? Cause damn, it felt as though it was longer than that...
I can't get this point across enough so I'm posting this icon here too...

Part II of yesterday's interview....
I guess I got the job? Sort of?
======================
And I also posted some of my LJ icons on the post...just for fun... but I guess most I've already used previously..oh well...might as well let the world see them instead of creating them and keeping them to myself...

Heni's in town so the group went out to meet up after dinner last night...well, until we sat down, then we realized that most of us are already ex-Citiphoners and some will be ex-Citiphoners soon...lol...it's funny how the group's dynamics are constantly changing!
But it felt good meeting up with the peeps again...Haresh was able to join us this time, which was good...As usual, the same people went to play pool and the same people sat around at the couch...I don't know if it's going to be a constant thing, but well, if it is, then that'll be so cool..if not then..oh well..we had fun while we could...
Since the whole lot of them wanted to go clubbing after that though, the meet up was cut short and we ended it before 12am..which, I dunno..to my knowledge, was the earliest ending that we've ever had considering I've never really reached home before 12am whenever I'm out with them..heh...
So yeah....it was a load of fun...took some of the pressure off towards my job interview tomorrow...*which I will talk about later on during the week; don't want to jinx it*
======================
Shrek Babies are so yabadabadi cute!!
Downloaded Shrek the Halls...though the whole thing is only for 21 minutes, it was full of lovadabledoo Shrek fun...sure, it's all in the spirit of Christmas but it doesn't mean that those who don't celebrate it can't enjoy it too..heee
And if you are planning to catch it, check out Puss when he's telling his Christmas story...effing cute!! And Gingey in a bread..geddit? Gingerbread Man in between two slices breads? Heh...And his (yes, we are now able to determine that Gingey is in fact a true male biscuit) fear and phobia towards Santa is hilarious!!
More towards the kiddies really but oh well...what's the harm? Heh...
