To be honest, I finished reading this book a couple of months ago. I just never did get round to reviewing it because I was a little wrapped up with other things.
But I'm reviewing now so here goes.
Mine Till Midnight dabbles on one of the most popular themes in Romance Novels; interracial romance. I've never really been a fan of it necessarily, so it's hard for me to stay objective when reviewing. However, the reason behind my not being a fan of the sub-genre stems from the fact that the portrayal of the other race (usually, and in this case, the gypsies) will eventually lead to author stereotyping the whole race. And, since the gypsies are usually the ones featured in interracial romance novels, this one seemed rather typical for me.
And I was rather annoyed with how slow the story went. There was movement in the plot but often times, because everything centred around the Hathaway house, and how it was destroyed by the fire, it felt as if there wasn't much progress in terms of the plot. I couldn't really feel the chemistry between Cam and Amelia although I wish I did because it'll at least take my mind off Leo.
Leo just bugged me to no end. And that ghost-influence at the end of the book? Yeah, I didn't quite buy it.
I know there are about 5 more in this whole series. I will eventually get to them but as of right now, I think I'll give the next few books a pass.
